Monarch Opal Sterling Silver Reversible Butterfly Wing Necklace

Monarch Opal is a synthetic man made stone to mimic real opal but at a lesser cost. The shimmer and sparkle in this piece is outstanding. With green hues and black veining, it just had to become a butterfly wing. 

I made the reverse side with a layer of copper cut to have the sectional compartments like a wing would. The silver and copper have lovely contrast and an almost silky appearance. 

Hung on a chunky linked chain with large rectangular lobster clasp.
